Mister Tipster works with music and IM when using third-party utilities, such as LCDSmartie or Winamp.
The Mister Tipster display has also been tested with the following applications:

• TeamSpeak v2 (A dedicated Mister Tipster utility to monitor Players who join and leave a channel and who's speaking)
• LCDSmartie v5.3 (lots of plug-ins including Apple iTunes, TeamSpeak, MSN Messenger, Microsoft Media Player)
• LCDC v1.06.33 (plug-ins include Winamp, stock ticker, SETI, weather and Zoom Player)
• Winamp v5.24 and v5.35 (Plays music; many plug-ins)

These apps have been around for a while and have quite a number of plug-ins available.
